A member of the GPH team has his eye on the ball. He’ll visit 42 stadiums in 42 hours this May!

GPH Sales Advisor, Iain Wood, has teamed up with five other football fanatics in a bid to clinch the goal of the season – visiting 42 SPFL football stadiums in just 42 hours on Sunday 27 May!

The group are taking on the mammoth challenge in a bid to raise vital funds for Tartan Army Children’s Charity (TACC), Kayleigh’s Wee Stars and anti-sectarian charity Nil By Mouth. They’re being sponsored by GPH Builders Merchants, Inverurie Precast Ltd, Clark Commercials, Proctor Group, Sandwich Larder and The Wallpaper Shop.

Iain explained further: ‘The boys (Stewart Ingram, John Cruden, Rod Lawman, Tony Mulloy and Bob Summers) and I are very excited to be tackling 42 in 42. It’s going to be a very memorable (albeit tiring) experience – made all the better because we are raising money for such worthwhile causes that are very close to our hearts.

The plan is that we’ll kick off the trip at Aberdeen FC’s Pittodrie Stadium and finish at Balmoor Stadium in Peterhead and we’ll cover appx 1026 miles! We’ll need to take a picture in every stadium for social media and we have a variety of fun challenges lined up to keep everyone on their toes.

We’re very grateful for the support we’ve been getting – it’s been quite overwhelming, to be honest. Our trip is going to be made that bit more comfortable as Clark Commercials have offered us a fabulous VW Transporter while GPH Builders Merchants are covering the cost of the fuel’.

There’s still some work to do

Getting 42 stadiums on board has been no mean feat and the ‘42 squad’ are still trying to secure everyone in time for the big challenge. The fundraising target is £3k and to date, they have raised £1300 (as of 6.3.18).
