Painting

Step 1 - Make space

Remove as much furniture as possible to maximize workspace, moving any remaining furniture into the middle of the room. Cover the floor and remaining furniture with dust sheets.

Step 2 - Repair the walls

Use filler on any cracks or holes and sand flat once dry.

Step 3 - Clean the walls

Clean the walls with ready-to-use sugar soap, then rinse with water.

Step 4 - Tape the edges

Apply masking tape along the edges of any surface you will be painting.

Step 5 - Paint the walls

Paint the walls with a roller, using a small brush to reach tight areas. Follow instructions for the paint you are using to determine number of coats and drying time.

Step 6 - Tidy up

Remove the masking tape before the paint has dried so that it does not peel.
