Exceptionally quality sharp sand, suitable for concrete, bedding slabs and backfill.

Extracted from a sand deposit in the North of Scotland, this sand is very clean with a very low moisture content, makingthis sand is excellent value for money.

Available from GPH in loose loads, directly from our source, bulk bags or in small bags, there is a solution for every requirement.

The approximate quantity within the bulk bag is 850kg 

The bulk bag can be delivered to you if required, with deliveries in an AB Postcode often benefiting from hi-ab delivery. In other postcodes around the UK, the bag will be delivered to you on a 1200 x 1000mm pallet for kerbside delivery.

When it comes to making concrete with your sharp sand sand, a 1:3:6 ratio concrete mix using a 3 in 1 additive to make a suitable foundation mix concrete.

You will require a Cement Mixer, which can be bought or hired from GPH Builders Merchants.

Then you will require a good quality bagged cement, such as Blue Circle Mastercrete Cement. This is packaged in a plastic bag which can be kept outside.

You will also require a Cement additive to make your concrete mix workable and delay the setting if required such as Evermix 3 in 1 

Finally, get yourself a good Builders Bucket to add water to your cement mixer.

Kirkhill Quarry is the source of one of the highest quality building sands and coarse sands in the North of Scotland.

Within the quarry is an excellent 0/2mm sand suitable for use as a Building Sand, Fine Sand, Mortar Sand, Plastering Sand, Rendering Sand or Asphalt Sand, all compliant with BS EN 13139.

Also available is a Fine Concrete Sand which complies to BS EN 12620

The sand is favoured by many local builders and contractors for its consistency and cleanliness.
