We recently celebrated our 40 years in business by announcing the goal of raising £40,000 for charitible causes during our 40th year of trading. To help us achieve our goal we formed the GPH Fundraising Committee from members of our team who have volunteered to help create and organise fundraising events over the year.

In addition to existing fundraising commitments our team voted for 5 additional charities who will benefit from the funds raised which are: Mental Health Aberdeen, MISS Miscarriage Support, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, Cancer Research, and Alzheimer Scotland with each reciepient having a special meaning to our staff.

We have a proud track record of supporting charities, including recently donating £2,920 to Maggie’s Centres for every goal scored in the GPH Builders Merchants Highland League Cup, and bucket collections at each match. We also raised more than £2,000 for CLAN Cancer Support, as well as supporting the Archie Foundation through the purchase of an Oor Wullie sculpture from the Big Bucket Trail in 2019.

Managing Director Grant Shewan said: “As a local business we are proud to have supported our communities on every level for the last 40 years, with the people we employee and serve at the heart of everything we do. The local communities have supported us for over four decades and have helped play their part in the company becoming what it is, so it is only right that we give something back to our loyal customers.”

To kick off our fundraising events we will be participating in the Kiltwalk Aberdeen on 29th May and Inverurie Raft Race on the 4th June. If you want to help us reach our goal you can donate on the links below:
